抄録/ポイント： 本論文では,画像認識に関する二次元HMMに基づく革新的統計モデルを提案した。最近,サイズ/位置変形に対する不変性をモデル化すべく分離可能格子二次元HMM(SL2D-HMM)が提案された。しかし,それらのモデリング精度は一次元HMMから継承された,次の2仮説:i)各状態における定常統計,ii)状態出力確率の条件付き独立仮説,故に未だ不十分である。一次元HMMの欠点を克服するために,軌道HMMを提案してうまく音声認識・合成に適用した。本論文は静的/動的特性間の明示的関連性の強制を通じてSL2D-HMMの尤度を再定式化することにより,二次元軌道HMMを導出した。提案モデルはモデルパラメータ数を増加させずに隣接観察間の依存性を効率的に捕捉できる。その有効性をXM2VTSデータベース上の顔認識実験で評価した。(翻訳著者抄録)
