抄録/ポイント： 最近のAr-Ar年代測定では,単純な標準として複数のAr抽出ステップから導きだされるプラトー年代を利用しているが,厳密なプラトー年代の判定基準があるにもかかわらず,内因的に深刻な問題を抱えている。それらは,1)二次的な地質現象が邪魔となって年代スペクトルを疑似プラトー年代と誤認すること,および2)固有の不確かさを考慮しないで年代推定を行なうことなどが原因となっている。正確な年代推定には,アイソクロン比またはCa/K比スペクトルを考慮する必要がある。
