  • 2005/09/07 - Japan Society of Applied Physics 2005 JJAP Award for the most promising young scientist 導波路型光アイソレータは端面発光型半導体レーザとのモノリシック集積化や高機能光集積回路の実現が可能になることから、その実現が望まれている。非相反損失変化型の導波路型光アイソレータは、半導体光増幅器に強磁性金属を蒸着するだけという簡易なデバイス構成ですみ、これまで理論的に提案されてきたが、実証例はなかった。我々はInGaAsP半導体光増幅器をハイメサ導波路に加工し、側壁にFe薄膜を蒸着することにより、波長1560nmのTEモード光に対して9.3dB/mmの非相反損失効果を観測することに世界で初めて成功した。
