Overview：
PEDANT 3 is a database of information regarding the extraction, description and analysis of proteins.
It contains this information for a variety of Archaeal, Bacterial, Eukaryotic, Fungal, Metazoan, Viral and Plant species.
Available data on protein function includes the results of Blast similarity searches against known non-redundant protein sequences and searches for motif similarities in the Pfam, BLOCKS and PROSITE databases.
The cellular roles and functions are predicted by means of BLAST searches against protein sequences of which the function is known.
A keyword search option is also available.
