Overview:
HOSTS is a database that provides information on the host plants for Lepidoptera, an order of insects that comprises the butterflies and moths of the world.
This repository contains data obtained from 180,000 records about 22,000 Lepidoptera species.
Although there is still much to be discovered out there, this may be considered the most extensive collection of data on this topic available at present.
Text Search and Drill-down Search options are provided. In the Drill-down search mode, the Lepidoptera or the plant family name is entered. The family group, genus and species are then selected, the one after the other, as the drop-down boxes appear.
