  • 癌細胞浸潤と転移:直接的には癌細胞の浸潤・転移はある種の遊走因子(例えば自己分泌型遊走因子Autocrine Motility Factor: AMF)により促進される。これは、上皮間葉移行とも関連のある現象である。研究では扱いやすい株化された癌細胞を扱ってはいるが、最終的な目標は正常上皮細胞での遊走促進による、早期の創傷治癒である。
  • 上皮間葉移行:上皮細胞も間葉系細胞に移行することがある。多くは癌細胞に認められる現象であるが、この性質を生かして創傷治癒の転機の促進や上皮欠損等の治癒に活かせないかと研究を進めている。
