• 4) Preparative details: a methanol solution (40 ml) of sodium methoxide (5 mmol) was added to a methanol solution (20 ml) of 4,5-bis(benzoylthio)-1,3-dithiole-2-thione (1.120 g, 2.75 mmol). Twenty milliliters of a methanol solution of sodium tetrachloro-aurate (497 mg, 1.25 mmol) was added. Then a methanol solution (20 ml) of dioctadecyldimethylammonium bromide (852 mg, 1.35 mmol) was added. All the procedures were performed under N₂ flowing at 293 K.
• 5) Crystal data: Rigaku R-AXIS RAPID imaging plate diffractometer with Cu-K_α radiation (λ=1.5418 Å). C₄₄H₈₀NS₁₀Au, M=1140.75, monoclinic, space group P2₁⁄c, Z=8, a=10.5812(2), b=17.5830(4), c=58.855(1) Å, β=93.8288(8)°, U=10925.4(4) ų, T=300 K, μ(Cu-K_α) = 87.565 cm⁻¹, 91736 reflections collected, 17650 unique and used (R_int=0.081);
