抄録/ポイント： ベトナムは急速な経済発展を遂げているが,中部,中南部,北部山岳地域では貧困問題の解決が取り組まれている。人々の暮らしや世帯経済は,地理的位置,民族性,社会構造などで多様であり,貧困の度合いや状況は一様ではない。貧困削減の地域開発支援は,地域特性を踏まえて把握する必要がある。Tam Giangラグーンに位置する2つの村を調査し,生業活動と世帯収入源の特徴,貧困に関係する暮らしの状況を特定しベトナム政府が定める貧困指標(経済指標)との比較を行った。2村の貧困世帯の割合は24%と20%であり,貧困を反映する状況は,季節的洪水に脆弱な家屋,トイレ無し,慢性疾患の家族の存在であった。貧困指数のみでは地域の実態をうまく説明できないことも示され,貧困度合は自然災害への備え,衛生,健康,栄養状態などを考慮する必要がある。
