【要約】【目的】極細繊維を用いた精密濾過用フィルターの濾過精度を維持しながら濾過ライフを延ばした筒状フィルター及びその製造方法を提供する。【構成】メルトブロー法で得られる極細繊維ウェブを巻き取り、筒状フィルターを作製する。このフィルターの外周面に凸状の押圧部材で型付け加工し、濾過面積を少なくとも1.2倍以上に拡大する。またより好ましくは、融点差が少なくとも20°C以上異なる熱可塑性樹脂を組合せて複合メルトブロー紡糸し、得られる複合極細繊維ウェブを熱処理して繊維間に三次元構造を形成させれば、更に優れた濾過性能が得られる。
