【要約】本発明に従って、選択した患者においておよび特定の部位に標的輸送するいくつかの好ましい態様において、血管新生を制御する方法、すなわち血管形成を増強または阻害する方法においてEC前駆体を用いることができる。例えば、EC前駆体は、血管新生を増強するために、または血管新生阻害剤、例えば抗-もしくは前-血管新生剤をそれぞれ、病理学的もしくは実利的血管新生部位に輸送するために用いることができる。さらに、もう一つの態様において、EC前駆体は、損傷血管の内皮再形成を誘導することができ、このように平滑筋細胞増殖を間接的に阻害することによって再狭窄を減少させるために用いることができる。
