【要約】【目的】 1ppm程度のH2Sを高速で検出すること。【構成】 Y2O3で安定化したZrO2チューブの内面にPt参照極を形成し、外面にWO3で被覆したPt検出極を形成する。検出極では O2+4e-→2O2- と H2S+3O2-→H2O+SO2+6e- の2つの反応が生じ、これらの反応で定まる混成電位が両極間に発生する。混成電位はH2S濃度の10倍の変化に対して約40mV減少し、1ppm未満のH2Sを検出でき、90%応答時間は2〜3分程度と短い。
