一般式(I)で表わされるメチン化合物を少なくとも1種含有することを特徴とするハロゲン化銀乳剤。一般式(I)【化1】(I)式中、METはメチン化合物構造を有する原子群を表わし、Qは炭素原子、窒素原子、硫黄原子、酸素原子のうち少なくとも1種を含む原子または原子団からなる2価の連結基を表わし、Arは芳香族性を持ち、5個以上の原子から構成される単環性化合物を有する基を表わし、k1 は1以上の整数を表わし、k2 は2以上の整数を表わす。
