【要約】【目的】 XカットLN結晶基板上にTiの光導波路を拡散形成するに当たって、偏光に依存しない良質な長波長帯(1.3μm)の光導波路を形成する。【構成】 この発明の光導波路の形成方法は、LN結晶基板上にZ軸に沿ってTi拡散光導波路を形成するに当たって、Ti拡散温度を1020°Cよりも高い温度とし、拡散時間を6時間よりも長い時間とすることを特徴とする。また、上記の光導波路の形成方法において、Ti膜厚dと光導波路パターン幅wとを、350A≦d≦450A、かつ、5μm≦w≦8μmの条件にする。

LiNbO3 (LN)結晶基板上にZ軸に沿ってTi拡散光導波路を形成するに当たって、Ti拡散温度を1020°Cよりも高い温度とし、拡散時間を6時間よりも長い時間とすることを特徴とする光導波路の形成方法。
