【要約】【目的】 本発明は、燃料電池,センサーなど電気化学デバイスに関するもので、高い導電率を示す混合イオン導電体を提供することを目的とする。【構成】 BaCe1-xMxO3-y(1>x>0,1.5>y>0)で現される組成の酸化物あるいは多結晶焼結体である。BaCe1-xMxO3-yのMの添加量により、結晶(斜方晶)格子定数比(a,b,c、α=β=γ=90°)のb/aもしくはc/aもしくはb/cの値を極大値としている。また、格子定数比b/c(a>b>cのとき)を1.010以上としたとき高い導電率を示す。

少なくともプロトン伝導性を有するイオン伝導性酸化物であって、その酸化物がBaCe1-xMxO3-y(1>x>0,1.5>y>0)で表現される組成であり、結晶型が斜方晶に属するペロブスカイト型酸化物であることを特徴とする混合イオン導電体。
