【要約】【目的】 均一で微細な結晶粒子のみで構成され、中低温域における強度と破壊靭性を同時に向上させた窒化ケイ素系焼結体を提供する。【構成】 原料粉末に長軸径が200nm以下の結晶粒から構成される結晶質窒化ケイ素粉末、又は非晶質窒化ケイ素粉末を用い、1200°C〜1400°Cの温度で焼結するか、又は1400°C〜1900°Cの温度で焼結温度(°C)と焼結時間(秒)の積を600000(°C・秒)以下で焼結して、窒化ケイ素及び/又はサイアロン結晶の長軸径が200nm以下である窒化ケイ素系焼結体を得る。
