【要約】【目的】熟練者でなくても容易に操作ができる内視鏡を得る。【構成】光ファイバ1の中心を外れた位置に配置された実写用ガラス筒2からレーザビーム6を照射する。照射面4を観察すると、光ファイバ1から照射面4までの距離が大きくなると、レーザビームの照射点は、視野5の中心に近づき、光ファイバ1から照射面4までの距離が近くなると、レーザビームの照射点は、視野5の中心から遠くなる。このため、そのズレ量を予め校正しておけば、ズレ量から距離を知ることができる。

Claim (excerpt)：

目標を観察する観察用光学系の光軸中心から外れた位置より前記目標に充分細い光を照射し、前記観察用光学系で観察される視野内における、前記光の位置の基準位置からの距離に基づいて、前記観察用光学系の先端から前記目標までの距離を求めることを特徴とする距離測定方法。
