【課題】 光触媒活性を示し、かつ粒子径分布の小さい酸化チタンの製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】 本発明の製造方法では、チタン化合物(硫酸チタン、オキシ硫酸チタン、三塩化チタン、四塩化チタン、オキシ塩化チタン、四臭化チタン、テトラアルコキシチタン、チタンキレート化合物など)の溶液を、このチタン化合物を加水分解させることなく60°C以上に加熱したのち、60°C以上の温度で、このチタン化合物に塩基(アンモニア、水酸化ナトリウム、水酸化カリウム、水酸化リチウム、アミンなど)を反応させ、得られた生成物を焼成して、酸化チタンを製造する。【選択図】 なし
