【要約】【課題】 プラズマ表示板と透明保護板との間に空気層を介在させずにそれらの界面での光反射損を抑制して高視認性を達成し、表示板の大型化にも有利に対処できるプラズマ表示装置の開発。【解決手段】 プラズマ表示板(3)の視認側に、緩衝性と密着性を有する耐熱性の透明樹脂シート(2)を介し透明保護板(1)を密着配置してなるプラズマ表示装置。【効果】 透明樹脂シートが耐候性に優れて良視認性を長期に維持し、接着剤や加熱接着による場合の歪等による視認性の低下や熱による表示板の機能低下等を回避でき、耐熱性の透明樹脂シートが断熱層や透明保護板の支持層や緩衝層として機能して透明保護板の板厚を増大させる必要なく表示板の大型化を達成でき、装置の落下時等に加わる衝撃力を緩和してプラズマ表示板の破損も防止できる。
