【要約】【目的】 安全で使用寿命が長く、かつ低濃度の汚染ガスに対して十分な除去能力を有する空気浄化剤と該空気浄化剤を工業的に製造する方法を提供する。【構成】 炭素材担体に活性二酸化マンガンおよび沃素酸塩を担持させた組成。活性二酸化マンガンは過マンガン酸カリウムの分解生成物、沃素酸塩は沃素酸カリウムであることが好ましく、空気浄化材の空孔容積が0.5 〜1.0ml/g の範囲にあることが好適である。この空気浄化材は、炭素材担体に過マンガン酸カリウムと沃素酸塩の混合水溶液を吸着担持させる方法で製造される。
