【要約】【目 的】 紙の再利用を促すために、複数種の紙質が混在する中から、確実に同質の紙を分類すること、および弁別回収するための紙質識別処理装置。【構 成】 紙質判断手段(11)は、画像情報を出力する際の紙質情報を判断する。また、画像情報の質を指示する指示手段(12)は、ユーザの選択によって画像情報の質情報を指示する。画像形成手段(14)は、画像情報を出力する際に画像情報と共に、前記紙質情報および画像情報の質情報を紙に埋め込む。そして、紙質情報および画像情報の質情報は、可視的あるいは非可視的情報からなる。また、上記紙質情報および画像情報の質情報に基づいて、紙質識別処理装置は、紙を分類することができる。さらに、上記製紙工程によって予め記録された紙質情報においても、上記と同様な処理を行なうことができる。
