繊維成分とフェノ-ル樹脂等の熱硬化性樹脂成分と、黒鉛、硫酸バリウム等の充填材成分とを含有する摩擦材において、充填材成分の少なくとも一部に二硫化モリブデンを含み、該二硫化モリブデンの40体積%以上が、偏平方向最短径が30μm以上の二硫化モリブデンであることを特徴とする摩擦材。
