若年患者の脱水を効果的にかつ急速にとめる激しい下痢の処置方法にして: a)患者が下痢をおこしているか、今にもおこそうとしているかを決定し、 b)lactobacillus reuteriの菌株を選定し、 C)患者への投与のためおよそ10の7乗乃至10の10乗のセルを含む上記菌株の少なくとも1分与量を用意し、そして d)下痢診断後直ちに上記患者へ少なくとも1分与量を経口投与することを特徴とする瀉止方法。
