芳香族ポリアミドからなる基材フィルムの片面に磁性層を設けてなる磁気記録媒体であって、該基材フィルムは少なくとも1方向のヤング率が700kg/mm2 以上であり、塩化メチレン抽出物が0.5%以下であり、該基材フィルムの縦方向の1mm2 あたり1kgの荷重をかけたときの100°C、10分間の寸法変化率が2%以下であることを特徴とする磁気記録媒体。
