下記工程を含むポリアルキレンオキシドカルボン酸の製造方法。i)ポリアルキレンオキシドを塩基の存在下でハロ酢酸t-アルキルと反応させて、ポリアルキレンオキシドカルボン酸のt-アルキルエステルを生成させ;そしてii)前記t-アルキルエステルを酸と反応させて、前記ポリアルキレンオキシドカルボン酸を生成させる。
