一対の基板間に液晶材料を有し、前記一対の基板のうち少なくとも一方の基板の内側面には前記液晶材料を一軸配向させる配向膜を有し、前記液晶材料中に混入させていた未硬化樹脂が析出、硬化して形成したカラム状の樹脂を有し、前記カラム状樹脂の表面張力より、前記配向膜の表面張力が大きいことを特徴とする液晶電気光学装置。
