【要約】【課題】 通常の生活環境温度近傍でマルテンサイト変態に伴う逆変態終了温度並びにキューリー温度を持ち、形状記憶合金へ適用可能なNiMnGa合金を提供すること。【解決手段】 このNiMnGa合金は、化学組成式Ni<SB>2+X </SB>Mn<SB>1-X </SB>Gaで表わされるNiMnGa合金における組成比パラメータX[モル]を0.10≦X<0.30の範囲で選んだものである。これによって、マルテンサイト変態に伴う逆変態終了温度を-20°C〜50°Cの範囲で任意に設定でき、同時にキューリー温度を60°C〜85°Cの範囲で任意に設定できる。しかも、このNiMnGa合金は、外部磁場によってマルテンサイト変態の逆変態を誘起させることで予め受けた歪みの解放を起こさせる形状記憶効果を示す。
