【課題】茶化合物を用いた、COX-2阻害及び/又はPGE2生合成阻害の作用を有する飲食品又は医薬品を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】緑茶、烏龍茶、紅茶から分離された40種類の茶化合物を供試し、慢性炎症に引き起こす酵素COX-2およびその産物であるPGE2を標的として鋭意研究を行った結果、18種類の茶化合物がCOX-2の発現及び/又はPGE2の産生を抑制することを見出した。【選択図】図1
