This Kuma area is the major producing district of sencha tea but its production techniques are inferior to those of adavanced producers in Shizuoka Prefecture and others, depending much on experience and intuition. As the further sophistication is needed at present, a production technique making the most of the weather and soil conditions of Kuma should be established for improving Kuma tea quality to establish own brand.
