Making of chill test peace for nondestructive examination

Research overview:
It is known that the cast iron comes to cause chill easily in the alloy when the thickness of meat is thinned. Then, the method of making the test peace in which the other was not defective was examined by generating chill in the cast iron so that we might develop the device that the distinction of chill in the cast iron is possible. The material of the test peace used JIS FC250 and FC150 of the gray cast iron. The diameter of the test peace has changed the thickness to 6mm and 3mm withφ50. As a result, the test peace situation of 6mm in the thickness, when the material was FC250, a part of pearlite was generated on the surface of the test peace. Moreover, the shirnkage cavity was caused easily in the alloy. The amount of generation of chill decreases as for FC150, and the generation of the shirnkage cavity has decreased, too. Moreover, a lot of chill was generated in each material at the test peace of 3mm. And, the shirnkage cavity has decreased. However, there was the cavity guessed to be misrun.
