Research overview:
Material circulation in the ocean is regarded as dynamics of particulate materials, and the biochemical reactions related with their formation, decomposition and transportation are traced with the changes in the abundance ratio of stable isotopes of carbon and nitrogen. From these measurements, the natural mechanisms of controlling biochemical reactions in the ocean will be elucidated.
