Development of active-noise controlling system for discharge duct of tea-processing machine

Noise reduction system is developed by active noise control procedure aiming the reduction of noise from outdoor exhausting duct of the tea processing factory which residences are adjoining. Noise reduction is succeeded as more than 30dB at 60 Hz band, and more than 20dB at 120 Hz by the noise control experiment at laboratory level. The system is installed to the actual apparatus, and operation is confirmed to obtain noise reduction effect of more than 10 dB. After installation, secular change of noise reduction is watched. Conventional noise absorbing material is effective for noise reduction of high frequency noise, but this control procedure has significant effect to noise reduction of low frequency noise which gives uncomfortable feeling. The study elements are noise analysis, design of duct, signal treating circuit by DSP, and development of software.
