Research overview:
Even aged persons without needs for nursing have the problem of hypofunction accompanied with aging. Needs for dailylife goods in consideration of this view are growing. We intend to develop such chairs in consideration of "comfort" of the aged people. In this study, (1) assessment of dimensional suitability at sitting position, (2) measurement of body-weight distribution at seated surface and back, (3) measurement of physiological measures focused on autonomic nervous system such as timewise variation of pulse, are conducted, and indexes that affects assessment of comfort of the aged people are extracted, for the development of assessing technique of comfort of the aged people. Based on the developed assessment, and also by combining technical seeds created by collaboration of four prefectures in the human life related field, trial production of chairs that support comfortable life of the aged people is to be conducted.
