Studies on adherence phenomenon on substrates of coarse powder particles

Research overview:
Powder particles sometimes adhere to substrates on which the particles are placed. The adherence troubles the handling of the powder particles in some cases. The cause of the adherence is generally supposed to be the electrostatic force between the powder particle and substrate for fine powders. However, the adherence of coarse powder particles is not necessarily explained only from the electrostatic force. At the first stage, the effects of the kind of substrates and the humidity of the air on the amount of electrostatic charge generated in copper powder particles and on the surface potential of substance are investigated.
