Establishment of breeding technique of cow aiming at diary management having greater latitude with higher productivity

Study period:2001 - 2005
Research overview:
Although expansion of scale and higher milk secretion have been promoted in diary management to secure income, new problems such as overwork, treatment of dunk and shortening of cow service period occur in the managements where conditions including breeding management technique or basement of feed are not well prepared. In such a state, development toward more efficient and higher productive diary by further improvement of facilities and advanced breeding management or low input sustainable diary utilizing higher utilization of self-supplied feed including pasturing or local feed resources is reviewed as alternatives and establishment of breeding management technique to help them is urgent. Therefore, concerning the more efficient and higher productive type, nutrition management technique of higher ability cattle groups based on nutrition monitoring capable of applying at production site is clarified and concerning the low input sustainable diary, effectiveness of breeding technique actively utilizing self-supplied feed and local feed resources is proved to establish a new breeding technique of cow for promoting development of diary management having greater latitude with higher productivity.
