Research overview:
1. Background and purpose of theme setting. Planted area of asparagus in the South Chikugo is expanding, as warm climate in the South-west district is advantageous to long-term harvest. Cultivation has been performed under the guideline set in 1999 based on the current results of experiments. In the semi-forcing and long-term culture, however, many unknown points are left concerning components of fertilizer and amount of absorption of nutrition at each growth stage so that proper amount of fertilization is not clear. Establishment of fertilization and water management method considering neighbor environment is also an important problem. For this purpose proper fertilization method for semi-forcing and long-term culture and sprinkling method at each growth stage is investigated.
