Research overview:
A study is performed on the nuclear characteristics of next generation reactors including thorium fuel cycle by using the Kyoto University Critical Assembly (KUCA). Experiments arecarried out to measure the critical mass, control rod worth, neutron flux distribution, conversion ratio, neutron spectrum, and so on. These experimental data provide benchmark problems for the assessment of neutronics calculation codes.
