2000 - 2005
Investigating Researcher (1)：
In 1994 WHO classified Helicobacter Pylori (H. Pylori) as definite carcinogen, and in Chiba prefecture the prevalence of gastric cancer is higher in northern area along Tonegawa River from the statistics of age adjusted mortality rate. We examine the distribution of H. pylori infection and the prevalence of atrophic gastritis in the whole prefectural area to clarity the relation between the bacterium and cancer development in this area. Over 20,000 cohort population will be traced using the Chiba Prefecture Cancer Registration.
