Observation study on variation of tropical forests and its influences (Geoscientific Technologies Specific Research Program) (2) Study on variation of water balance

熱帯林の変動とその影響等に関する観測研究 (地球科学技術特定調査研究)(2) 水収支の変動に関する観測研究
Study period:1990 - 1999

Research overview:
The reduction of tropical forests is caused by field firing, wood cutting, great-scale agricultural and industrial development and others. These causes drive forest destruction, followed by the increase of disasters including floods, and the worsening of soil environment. On these acounts, total study on planting, climate, soil and hydrology are required and the influences of forest destruction on global environment are observed for a long time period and clarified.
