Research overview:
Shielding materials of thermal neutrons for biomedical uses have been developed. Lithium-6 which has almost no secondary gamma rays with thermal neutron capture, is a base element to manufacture the shielding materials, i. e. LiF tile, LiF sheet, LiF fiber, etc. A study on the characteristics for shielding ability and tritium release is also performed.
