Study on recombination and dissociation process due to collision between atom and diatomic molecule

Research overview:
Concerning the collision between H2 or its ion and an atom, the study on how collision dynamics will be affected if one or both of H2 are replaced by its isotope D or T is important in deciding a numerical density ratio of H and its isotope in interstar clouds. At the same time the study is important in deciding how different the efficiency of energy exhaust will be between H2 and its isotope as buffer gas in diverter plasma whose application is being examined for a nuclear fusion experimental reactor. In He+H2+ collision system, one of three-atom collisions, interactive potential energy surface is demanded to a sufficiently reliable extent, which is important for the study of collision dynamics. Consequently we are continuing to study the isotopes such as He+H2+, HD+, HT+, DH+, TH+ and etc. for perfect dependency on energy of the probability of the process of oscillation transfer of molecules, recombination of atoms and dissociation of molecules by atomic collisions. Our study so far has been limited to the collisions in a collinear alignment, but we are preparing for the three-dimensional study so that we can get collision cross sections necessary for application.
