Research overview:
Large-scale collapses of base rock slopes are not frequent, but cause great damage if they occur. For such large-scale base rock slopes, because of their geographical steepness and their scale it is difficult to plan their prevention only with hardware, and it is necessary to rely at least partly on the software such as monitoring the slope. However, long-term monitoring of large-scale base-rock slopes distributed in wide area is sometimes difficult to install and maintain the apparatus, and development of non-contact monitoring for wide area and for long time is desired. Then the method of long-term monitoring on the deformation of base-rock slopes is investigated with satellite data (InSAR).
