Research overview:
With diversified gene-knockout mice, especially Apc gene-knockout mice and beta-catenin conditional knockout mice, as animal models for colic polyposis (FAP), and DNA micro-arrays, 1) polyp formation, 2) advancement of glandular cancer and 3) molecular mechanisms dominating metastasis are elucidated, and drugs controlling tumor formation at each stage are searched in order to establish strategies for developing novel chemical prevention and therapy of digestive cancers.
