Development of a prediction technology for the occurrence of pest damages of Japanese pear by real time field monitoring

Research overview:
A technology for the judgment of proper control timing by fruit tree orchard is required to reduce the number of germicide sprays in Japanese pear cultivation. Prediction models for damage occurrence such as Amedas, which were developed in the past, were restricted in application mainly to broad areas. Hence, in order to make it possible to control pest damages in a manner suitable for the situation of fruit tree orchard, a field server, a small low-priced meteorological robot, is installed in fruit tree orchards to collect micrometeorological data and control records such as germicide sprays are input to develop a prediction technology for pest damage occurrence by the utilization of the field data and a model.
