Research overview:
The present study deals with design calculations of optinum irradiation field for neutron capture therapy using a low power research reactor and a small accelerator. We use a neutron coupled gamma-ray transport code (DOT) and a Monte Carlo Code (MCNP) to obtain a good beam for neutron capture therapy. We also calculate the depth dose distributions in a phantom and discuss the possibility of deep-tumor treatment for radiation therapy.
