Machining of new inorganic materials forces some defects on its surface such as micro-fracture, corner chipping and residual stress. Mechanism to form these defects are investigated in ultra-precision machining condition to clarify the limit accuracy of machined surface of the material and necessary factors of the material characteristics for good surface
