Research overview:
To achieve the high addition value of the enriched calcareous resource, macro-pore-based porous hydroxyapatite using coral or the like as a raw material is synthesized. Apatite-based ceramics exhibits some development examples as a bone filler owing to its bio-affinity. The present research studies the functionality of the porous hydroxyapatite, particularly, an enzyme carrier, an adsorption material for heavy metal, and material quality properties.
