Experiment on integrated improvements of culture of rice Hamadori area in Fukushima Prefecture

Research overview:
Due to the strong influence by Yamase (cool temperature, high humidity, little sunshine) rice productivity areas facing to shores is significantly unstable. In order to adapt the production to such environment we examine the nutritional and ecological characteristics of wet-rice variety especially in terms of sunshine utilization and substance commutation, aiming for a stable harvest. On the other hand the area can take advantage of its wide range of varieties and cropping seasons and we establish high investment efficiency rice cultivation by developing and systematizing the techniques for dry field direct sowing cultivation, utilizing those characteristics.
