Investigation on handling and cleaning of coals

Study period:1991 - 1993
Organization (1):
Investigating Researcher (8):
Research overview:
The objectives of the research are to clarify handling and cleaning characteristics of lower rank coals, to analyze and evaluate an effect of coal cleaning, and to investigate an applicability of coal cleaning to gasification. Coal cleaning and evaluating techniques in this research include coal deashing by oil agglomeration using fossil fuels as bridging oil, reactivity of oil agglomerates for liquefaction and gassification, biodesulfurization and biodenitrification, pretreatment of coals by supercritical water, and advanced coal deashing process by froth flotation. For coal handling techniques, a simulation of spontaneous combustion and an evaluation of handleability are investigated.
