Research overview:
Food poisoning occurring every year includes those supposedly due to viruses. Small sized spherical viruses are suspected to be the main cause. Cultivation of these viruses is difficult, and they are hardly identifiable due to their wide variety. Study thus aims at confirmation of the viruses from tissues of patients suffering from food poisoning and diarrhea using electron microscopy, and at isolation of genes of viruses for identification and pursuit of relationship to food poisoning.
