Research overview:
Flare is applied as a method for maintaining aerodynamic stability at a relatively high altitude (50 to 90km) where air is thin. A developable flare can avoid an increased resistance in a region with a dynamic pressure, but a gap is generated in the flare. This year, experimental evaluation was made on influence on aerodynamic stability, in cases with and without gap on three flares of different angles. As a result, gap scarcely affects in any flare angle, and the effectiveness of developable flare could be confirmed.
